With all that is going on in my life and around my life, the only word that comes to my mind is "organization". I try to believe that I am somewhat organized but recently I've been finding myself out of breath from running like a chicken with my head cut off. So I am jumping back into living a more organized life and let's keep it real, who does not like a little organization? Honestly, there are so many benefits to being organized, you will find yourself less stressed, more relaxed, an improved health, happier, and more productive (just to name a few). I have struggled many a days just getting out the door in the morning because I did not prep the day before. When my life is unorganized and I am off of my routine, I end up on the losing end because I forget the most important things and my day is ruined. So if you down to learn what I consider the essential steps to being organized, let's go!
1. Say to yourself, "This is going to work!" manifest what you want your organized life to look like: say it, do it, see it!

2. Purchase a planner. I purchased a planner about 2 months ago from Target and I absolutely love it! When I purchased this planner it was $11.99, the greatest benefit of having a planner is that it keeps your life in order (if you do it right). I try to write down all of my goals the night before for the next day, that way when I wake up I am already aware of what needs to be done and I can just cross off items as I go. It is really rewarding to see yourself getting work done and not being so anxious or panicked stricken about forgetting to do something really important. This planner in particular, that I purchased form Target, allows you to have a monthly view and a daily view. You can choose to use either or both simultaneously. The monthly view can be used to jot down appointments or one to two word reminders of important events that take place on a particular day. The daily view allows you to jot down the 3 most important things that you have to get done, followed by an arrangement to place other stuff that you need to accomplish for the day and lastly, there is a space for you to write down what you would like to do that night, i.e. grocery shop, chill, catch a movie, whatever, but most importantly STICK TO THE SCHEDULE! You will accomplish more if you stick to the schedule and you will feel great about yourself when you do #winning
3. Observe, Remove, Contain. What do I mean? Stop and take look around yourself and see what's going on (what you have created). Is there a flow to how you live (home and or work space)? If you see that there are things stopping you from moving around productively and or not allowing you to be free mentally, remove what does not belong. I'm talking about that great grandma type of clean; lift stuff up, get all the way back into those drawers, donate items that you have not used or worn in the last year and definitely throw stuff away. Clutter is the enemy and it is designed to throw you off track. Next, contain, go to you closest Kmart, Container Store, Family Dollar or Dollar Tree and purchase containers that will assist you in putting items where they go, so you're not just putting these items anywhere. This doesn't mean that your living space becomes a giant, plastic box. Purchase items that aren't containers per say, but items that aesthetically pleasing to the eye yet hold and disguise your "stuff" - baskets, a book shelf or set of drawers, whatever makes you happy! But you must put things away in their rightful place when decluttering your mind and environment.
4. Simplify. Stop buying new things that you don't need.
"With organization comes empowerment."
We are all living and learning throughout the process of identifying our true purpose in life. We can not navigate or hear clearly when our vision is clouded by our own doing. As I prepare for another school year with my job, husband and my children, I do not have time to be unorganized. I want a much more simpler, fulfilled and happy life and that starts with me!
