I'll be "smizing" for the next 6 weeks thanks to the Lash Lounge in Columbus, Ohio because I am feeling myself!
Continuing on my journey of trying new things, I ventured to the Lash Lounge this past weekend seeking to experience how great it would feel to go from swapping out putting on mascara daily to trying the "No Mascara Lashes" and I LOVE IT! Upon entering the Lash Lounge I was completely at ease, there was such an ambiance of serenity and relaxation-so what's a girl to
do? I climbed my butt up into the recliner chair and laid back to allow Lorena Colbert (ask for her, she's AWESOME) to do my lashes.
Here's What Will Happen Next:
1. You will sign a waiver
2. Choose your preference of lashes, there are three types of lash extensions: synthetic, silk and mink. the lashes are applied one at a time using semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash. However, if you have allergies to certain products, there are different types of glue based on one’s sensitivity.
3. Close your eyes (It takes about an hour 1/2, depending on your lash preference)
4. Voila, it's magic!
During the placement of my lashes i did not feel any burning, eyes watering or poking- in fact I was completely at ease until I couldn't take it anymore due to my own impatience, I wanted to see my face! It was so hard to sit still with my eyes closed when I was not tired (now I know how my kids feel when I tell them to take a nap) When I could open my eyes I was beyond pleased. I personally chose a very natural length due to my fear of looking like I'm about to fly off somewhere by way of my eyes- so I kept reiterating how I wanted them to be very natural. Afterward, I kept looking at myself in the mirror because it doesn't even feel like I am wearing false lashes- I'm so fixated on my eyes right now!
Up keep and Tips!
False individual eyelashes can last up to 6 weeks, and seeing that each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally along with the natural growth cycle of each lash. Lorena, recommended that a touch-up is necessary every three to four weeks. Can you shower with them? YES and when applying your own mascara (if you still choose to), only apply to the tips! The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes- well they don't! if applied correctly and properly, they are safe and will not ruin the health of your natural lashes. However, be sure not to rub your eyes or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. If lashes are applied properly and to each individual lash, they won’t fall out.
