Up until now, I had it all figured out- that sounds hilarious! No seriously, up until now I was working a plan that I had made as I went. I don't think that I ever (really) sat down and wrote down what I wanted to do/be, opportunities more or less presented themselves and I committed for all the wrong reasons, I say wrong reasons because now I see that I am not happy...ok
Okay, no- I am happy but I am not living a life fulfilled, major difference. I enjoy doing what I am doing for a living, I was raised on the principal of giving back #sankofa and now that I have been in my profession for 14+ years , I seriously question if I am fulfilled in my work. I have been having too many "Talk To Yourself" sessions asking myself what else is out there or HOW can I do this and do what makes me happy-what makes me smile? The uncomplicated answer to my question (I'm talking to myself again) is sacrifice. What does sacrifice look like for me? What's the difference between sacrifice & risk? Do I really have to give "it" all up to be fulfilled? The answer to that is yes (sort of. I hope- I don't know!). Yes, because I feel that I want to be fully committed to giving it a shot, a real chance at trying to make it work with no interruptions (wait. what am I saying, I am a mother and a wife- there will be interruptions!!!) I won't lie though it makes me terrified...the courage to fail. So many have taken the leap and found that there weren't even falling but that they were in fact soaring! I'm still toiling over the idea but I do know this-you'll be the first to know if I have enough courage...to fail.

3 ways to be a successful risk taker:
(what I'm putting into practice)
1. Respect the process. Failure is going to happen when you take risks, it's all about learning what to and what not to do, so when failure comes JUST KEEP GOING!
2. Know What You're Risking. Taking big risks can impact your whole situation , be that family, friends and money. It's important that you know what you’re risking before you risk it. If it's worth the risk then do it!
3. You Get One Shot! Don’t live to regret. Learn and experience life, start living (on purpose)!
