I have been quite moody lately, tired and hungry... so when others noticed it too, of course they jokingly ask! But then I asked myself, "Why can't I just be bloated/gaining weight because of too many Wingstop Wings ( I LOVE their wings- "Louisiana Rub", I digress!) or irritated because of my job- why does that have to mean I'm pregnant?!" Well, first of all I AM NOT PREGNANT! But I am POSITIVE that I am NOT having anymore children!
Well, first of all let's be clear: 1. This blog is not about being pregnant or getting pregnant- None of that. In fact, it's the total opposite: How not to get pregnant! I am perfectly fine with the two angels God has sent me....Thank you God (you got jokes but it's gonna work out!). I honestly believe that women know when they're done having kids. There is no conversation or list of pros and cons- you just know, just like you know when you have to fart- it's no surprise! So, about 7 years ago on February 23rd, a day after my son was born, I knew THEN that I had reached a plateau- no tears! I then quickly began to do my research. I started looking for a loooooooooong term contraceptive; a hysterectomy and getting my tubes tied were not options. I've tried the pill (got sick), I've tried the rhythm method- then ran to CVS to get Plan B (that was fun!), we even tried condoms- and we're married!! (go ahead and laugh!). So naturally, it was time for us to go further and deeper (literally) = the IUD was the next best thing!
Facts:
1. It hurts. Oh God.....it hurt (but everyone is different- then again 2 c-sections hurt too. Alex, I'll take 1 IUD for $500)
2. You have to be on your cycle in order for it to be inserted (Lord be a fence).
3. It's effective immediately. #winning
4. It last for 5-10 years depending on the one you choose. #Mirena
There's nothing wrong with choosing or not choosing to use contraceptives to avoid pregnancy (there are so many different ways- believe me) and or deciding to not have kids- to have kids (or even more kids, God bless you!). I know women who love and live by the rhythm method, those who overdose on the birth control pills and then there are women like myself- lazy! We can't remember to pop a pill or don't have enough will power to tell our spouse when to "pull-out" (sorry mom, you raised me right though!). Do what is right for you and your family. Include your significant other on your choices, however know that it is your body and you have the final say. If you're still undecided I've listed below different birth control methods, plan a visit with your doctor and hop on this "Hell no I'm not having anymore kids (right now)" bandwagon- Thank me later!

As always thanks for starting your work week with me,
