The other day I followed my dreams (again) and took another adventure alongside my creative self in hopes to expose my hidden talent: sewing. I can't exactly say I am a seamstress but I do like to sew. Can I sew pants, or a skirt? NOPE! Not even a shirt- not because I can't but because I haven't tried. However, I CAN sew a head wrap. It all started some years ago (more like 22 years go) I begged my mother to buy me a sewing machine for Christmas- and to my surprise she did. No literally, I was surprised. She made me believe she didn't buy it, then she asked me to get her something out of the dinning room, and there it was on the table: My first sewing machine. At the time I didn't know what I was doing with it but I was sewing all kinds of stuff- stuff I don't even remember now though. Fast forward...I woke up 2 years ago and decided to wear a head wrap, couldn't find one- so I took some old material and got to work...what I created was not the best but the blueprint was imprinted in my mind and I knew it was DOPE! I created a few more, shared my ideas with my friends and they too thought they were cool, #winning! = WRAPOLGIE. So, as I was saying, the other day I followed my dreams (again) and took another adventure alongside my creative self in hopes to expose my, "I'm still learning" talent: Sewing. While determining what I was going to create in my beautiful, fully equipped sewing work space (my bedroom-lol!) I created this great idea, this seasons project is all about African printed fabric with infused stripes, why??? Well stripes are what's "in" this season! I can't wait to launch the site on April 1st, I am so excited about this line but more importantly I am proud of myself for being creative. I believe that we all are born with gifts and talents to show our supernatural selves, our supernatural strength- the thing that makes us an individual and allows us to step outside of our beings to fly without fear or regard. I encourage each and every one of you to tap into your creativity or acknowledge it and trust the process, I can't tell you what will happen next but I will tell you this: Get ready to soar!
As a gift from me to you, I've posted this video instead of the normal yet helpful bullet points, this video just sums it all up- take notes, apply them to your life, CREATE & enjoy!
