What THEE hell did I do to my eyebrow???? First of all let me just say that I love my eyebrows! However, when I was younger-not so much! It was probably the bushy unwanted connection that they made across my face that made me #HATE them. Now that I am older though, I've realized how beautiful and full they are after a good plucking! So, what THEE hell happened!? To make a long story short I noticed that my eyebrows were beginning to jump double dutch on my face, so I went and got the eyebrow scissors (you know the one's they sell at CVS and Walgreens!?) and I started to trim them. I've done this before-don't be alarmed, in fact, I am the ONLY person right now who maintenances my eyebrows because of my horrible experiences in the past. This time, I cannot blame anyone else for 2/3rd eyebrow but myself! As I was cutting, I noticed that that I cut too much, so I started brushing the hairs up and then down, as to survey the damage: #notwinning
So What's A Girl To DO?
1. Cry. It's okay, let it out.
2. Laugh. It beats crying!
3. Put Them Back On! Noooo don't pick up the hairs and try to glue them back on- won't work. Please don't purchase any lace front eyebrows either. Don't be ashamed by your lack of eyebrows and don't hide your face with a hat. There is hope: there are so many different companies that sell eyebrow pencils, promade, eyebrow gels etc. put them back on! I prefer to use the Ka-Brow by Benefits cosmetics (even before I got scissor happy) to fill in sparse areas and to add definition, it costs $24.99 and comes with an application brush- goes on smooth and lasts all day. I've tried other cheaper and pricier brands but this one works for me, especially right now!
4. Wait. After that it's a waiting game for your hair to grow back. Some people say to rub oils on your eyebrows to promote hair growth- I say pray and wait. In the meantime ask God for forgiveness and proclaim eyebrows that are fuller and stronger than your edges. #prayerworks!
5. Seek Council. I've learned many lessons so I am aware that this too shall pass however I also know that some things you just have to let others do for you. After a couple more weeks, once more hair grows back (I don't want to scare anyone) I plan to set an appointment with The Brow Dr. here in my city, she has amazing reviews, her work is impeccable and we went to Middle School together (small world). I'll share my experience, before and after photos on my Instagram page in the near future. More importantly I've come to the realization that I need help in this situation, especially if I don't ever want to see my eyebrow under this kind of stress again.
If you see me out in these streets, just know I am very sensitive about my eyebrow right now- but like every great super hero, I will return fully browed-ready & stronger. Seriously, ladies we all do it and we need to stop; stop over plucking , over analyzing, over waxing etc. I know I'm not the only one out here with a 2/3rd eyebrow- but if I am, learn from my mistake and seek professional maintenance with your eyebrows. As always thanks for starting and ending your work week with me!
