Two steps forward and two steps back we come together cause opposites attract! YASSSS Paula Abdul
#80sBaby!!! How many of you can relate with me that sometimes life feels like that revolving door that won't
let you out or maybe you feel like your doing a marathon of the moonwalk!? Well, that makes 2 of us (or more of us !? I can't see if you agree with me or not) anywho, I have been doing the dang thang, if I can say so myself. I mean between working a 9-5, running a dance company (GOREE Drum and Dance), a head wrap business (Wrapologie), an online read aloud for children (Sankofa Read Aloud) and this blog- ya girl is busting moves. BUT, that doesn't mean that there aren't days when I want to scream FUCK IT!!!!! I get it, slow and steady wins the race but sometimes I want to quit, however I realize and appreciate that every step forward is a step closer to my dreams- even if I have to take two steps back here and there! The goal is never to quit no matter how many naysayers you come across, wrong turns you make or disappointments you may have- it is all a part of the process.
"Accept each and every experience because you don't know which will will turn everything on."
How do you stay in the game?
1. Visualize the results. Sounds funny but I always see myself living the good life, well the life of my dreams- goals!
2. Get Organized. I know I've said this before- ain't no way in hell you're going to make without organization, it's like H2O without the 2 #Verizon
3. Listen to Your Heart. It will NEVER steer you wrong. Have a real conversation with yourself and ask those hard questions, if at the end of it it says,
"Keep going" then that's what you do, if it doesn't reassess and start over!
4. Make Mistakes. It's only because of the two steps back that I am able to continue to move forward, I know where I don't want to be- I'm not going
back there again. Forward and Upward!
This is what I'm thinking Monday, thanks for reading and let's start looking forward to doing more of the Cha-Cha in this life- 2 steps forward and 2 steps
back!
XOXO,
