Well, the title tells it all doesn't it!? I know some of you are asking yourself, "Really?" but seriously and with all sincerity, affirmations saved my life. Not your typical ER visit, huh? Nope! At the time I knew that I needed something but I couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly. First off, I am not the type of person who visits the doctor/hospital; well, in the most intense of circumstances I will ie. OB etc. but a headache, cold- no. I knew I wasn't sick, but I also knew something wasn't right. I felt as if I needed to speak with someone and have open dialogue about my emotions and I wasn't trying to speak to a family member, I needed someone who didn't know me and could just say, "GUUUUURRRRRLLLL" and that is exactly what I did. Last summer I looked into going to therapy, at the time I was listening to Myleik Teele, my social media therapist and she was just so open about her own therapy and she encouraged others to go to therapy also. So, fast forward, I sat on a couch and spilled the beans. I did it so effortlessly that my therapist was like, "I usually have to pry information out of people but not you!" My thoughts were, "I didn't come here to waste time, I want to get better." The resolve was that I wasn't putting myself first and that I needed to love me more- easy right, well, yes and no. That was not the easiest pill to swallow, "I don't love myself? Thanks!" but hindsight is 20/20 and the truth hurts. For the next couple of months I put into action ways to get me up and ready to take on life and I was able to do it through the use of daily affirmations. Affirmations are the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed.

Affirmation are all about thinking positive and putting actions to your thoughts. I feel like all actions first start in the mind, so, If I think it-I can see- I will do it- I will be it. Here are the affirmations that I used then, that I don't even have to force myself to say anymore because it's automatic!
1. Personal: I love you!
2. Personal: I am beautiful, deserving of receiving and giving love.
3. Personal: I am courageous and I stand up for myself.
4. Health: My body is healthy. My mind is brilliant. My heart is at peace. My soul is tranquil.
5. Confusion: Everything leads to something better.
6. Money: My account is open and ready to receive. I am a money magnet.
As crazy as it may sound, I would say these things to myself standing in the mirror. I know my husband was probably looking at me like I was crazy but I would do it every single day anyway until I believed it. My actions toward myself were positive and in return I started to walk in purpose, love and light. I truly believe that if you do not truly love yourself, you cannot love anyone or anything. Self-love is the most powerful love there is, and now that I know that, I love the hell out of me. I hope that you experience this type of love, it's the best feeling in the world!
XOXO,
